Al Bataeh defeats Sharjah 2-0

Al Bataeh snatched a well-deserved victory from their hosts, Sharjah, with a clean 2-0 win in yesterday’s match at Sharjah Stadium, a rescheduled fixture from the ninth round. Al Bataeh raised their points tally to 9, moving off the bottom of the table. Entering the match determined to end their run of poor results, Al Bataeh delivered a remarkable performance, particularly defensively, managing to keep a clean sheet. Anatoli and Mohammed Juma scored Al Bataeh’s goals in the second half. During the post-match press conference, Al Bataeh coach Farhad Majidi said, “I am happy with the performance and the result, and I congratulate the players on the spirit they showed on the field and their high level of fighting spirit.” Majidi added, “We deserve more points in the standings were it not for the circumstances the team has faced. If we want to continue, we must strengthen the team with new players, as playing a match every four days is too much for the team.” Al Bataeh will face Bani Yas in the final match of the first round on January 18th.
